Apple pie


(my own recipe)

Ingredients:

 For the filling:
  • 6 apples
  • 50 gr butter
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 star anise
  • 4 cardamom pods

For the dough:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 gr butter
  • vanilla essence
Step One

 Cut the apples into cubes and  place them in a big pan. Add the butter, sugar, star anise, cinnamon and cardamom pods and cook for 10 min or until slightly soft. Then, place them in an oven proof pan.



Step Two

 For the dough, put the flour, sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla essence in a food processor and mix it. Afterwards take the mix out of the food processor and place it on the table (that you have trow some flour before to not stick to the table). Knead it for 2-3 min and then place it in the fridge for 20 min.

 
 Step Three

After the 20 min, place the dough back on the "floury" table and open the dough with the rolling pin in the shape of the pan you will use. Afterwards put the dough on top of the apples and make some holes with a knife or fork in the dough.


 Bake it for 30 min in 200 °C preheated oven. When the time is over, turn it on a bigger pan and let it cool for some min before serving. 



 Serve it sprinkled with cinnamon, and if you like add some vanilla ice cream.
