(recipe from a magazine )
Serves 8
Ingredients:
- 110 gr sugar
- 110 gr butter
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp milk
- 225 gr self-rising flour
- 4 large apples. peeled, cored and sliced
- 25 g flaked almonds
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- cinnamon (optional this is my personal preference)
- whipped cream or custard
Preheat the oven to 17o℃ /150 ℃ fan/ gas mark 3 and grease a 23 cm deep round baking tin.
Step Two
Cream the butter and sugar for a few minutes until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and milk, then sieve in the flour. Mix together and stir in the apples. The mixture should be quite wet; if it seems a little dry, add some more milk.
Step Three
Spread the batter into the tin and top with almonds and sugar. Bake for 30 minutes.
Step Four
Serve the cake warm with whipped cream or custard.
