I call this one garlic bread "plus" because it has more ingredients then the normal garlic bread.
I ate this type of garlic bread first time in Crete, at a place called "Pizza Club". If you ever have the opportunity to eat their food, try whatever you want except the pizza's :)
(my own recipe)
Serves 2
Ingredients
- 1 baguette
- 50 gr butter
- 5 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp (dried) oregano
- 60 gr feta cheese
- 4 slices bacon
- 4 cherry tomatoes
- oregano
Step One
Preheat the oven 250°C, prepare the baking paper and the oven tray.
Step Two
Start by cutting the baguette in half then each piece in the middle and put them aside. Mix well in a bowl the butter, the oregano and the crushed garlic cloves.
Step Three
Spread the butter mix on the bread then spread the feta cheese that you have cut or break it with your fingers, like this:
Then place the bacon slices on top and put in the oven for 8 min (or until the bacon is well cooked)
Step Four
This is optional (although recommended) step: Take the bread out of the oven and place the sliced cherry tomatoes and the oregano on top. Place it again in the over for another 3-5 mins to cook the topping. If it's possible to change the heating source of the oven, I would recommend to set the oven to heat just from the top side.
